HMS Gåssten is a magnificent, historical oak hulled ship that has been transformed into a beautiful, comfortable adventure boat. She began life in 1973 as a Swedish naval minesweeper, officially known as M31. One of the last wooden-hulled warships, she patrolled the Baltic and Gulf of Bothnia for 26 years, clearing second world war ordnance and mines from the cold war’s aquatic frontline. Her solid oak hull was intended to ward off magnetic mines.
